ANGRY COOKIE

Prepare to fall absolutely in love with this irresistible cookie, crumbly chocolate chips and all. OH NO! Barbra the cactus won’t stop playing her recorder, the yummy strawberry toothpaste has run out, and now – to top it all off – Cookie has to have his hair cut! Which all makes for one VERY ANGRY little cookie… But perhaps you, the reader, can find a way to turn his grumpy frown upside down?

BRIGHT AGENCY: How did you come up with the character design for Angry Cookie?
Maria: “ This was the sweetest and quirkiest character I have ever put on paper! And it really wasn’t me who came up with that, it was Angry Cookie himself! AC – how we all call him now – did this all on his own – he jumped out of my sketch book! Suddenly he was there! When I read Laura’s lines, which was like a trip into a cookie’s inner life, this little thing was speaking to me! You can try it out on your own – it really happens: AC is real!“

ANGRY COOKIE`S FRIENDS
Angry Cookie OF COURSE doesn’t have friends when he is grumpy. But in fact the ALL love him – except he is wearing a TOO SMALL hat (because in fact there are NO hats for cookies, you know!). When I was asked about creating characters on the PICTURE BOOK PARTY:
„After gathering the ideas and impressions in a big Hot Pot, I start picking the elements that stand out for some reason. And that often depends on the context. Unusual colours, unexpected characters, e.g. a character who is a cookie but also ANGRY! I had never seen that before.“
